Gardening

Hi. I am CK. I am a plant lover and I love gardening. Because by gardening we can be calm, and fresh. Gardening may be a beneficial hobby both for your health and pocket. By gardening we get to exercise and get fresh foods. We also can save money.  

 I love fresh herbs and vegetables. The green view is refreshing and distressing. Watching the plants grow give me a kind of satisfaction. Plus if it is in the morning or after the rain. It is a refreshing experience. 

 However,gardening in a limited space is sure a challenging activity. Especially when you just feel like growing every plants around your house. I need to consider what plant to grow and their number, and how much space they will take along their lifetime. This depends on some factors such as the purpose of growing them, the maintenance, types of plants and the amount of water and sun they need, the airflow and humidity. 

I also have to plan prior to growing to ensure the optimum use of space in the garden, so that many plants can be grown in a small area. To obtain that, we can use different types of planters such as hanging planter, trellis, upside down planter, planter tower and many more. The usage of recycled container also may not only save space but also save your budget. 

Gardening is not a difficult hobby. However, to build your garden beautifully is quite challenging. It requires careful planning, and regular maintenance. And also some knowledge. Types of soil, the soil mix, the soil pH, fertilizers, compost and composting, plants variations, and plant enemies and diseases are examples of some knowledge that a gardener should have, or search for. Learning about gardening may also save money. For example, if you know how to compost your kitchen and garden residues you may save money on buying fertilizer and potting soil. And your plants may also be happy and healthy.

Gardening is a profitable hobby and activity if it is done in a right way. However, to grow plants, we should not be afraid to start growing and start over if failure happen. Sometimes, it feels like we are doing a research on a certain types of plant. It also feels like getting to know something new and like communicating with it via learning and try and error.

Brazilian Spinach : How To Care

Brazilian Spinach, or Sissoo Spinach, or Poor Man's Spinach is the name of a shiny crunchy small shrub plant which is also edible. I got this plant cuttings last year. In the beginning I did not have any idea what it is. I was looking at my aunt's plants when I noticed a pot of shiny shrub. They are so cute because they grow like a small bush with shiny green leaves. They look edible. I asked my aunt about the plant. And my aunt said it is Brazilian Spinach. It can be eaten raw or cooked. My cousin bought the spinach from fresh market and my aunt regrow the stems. Brazilian Spinach seedlings. I grew them in my container garden. They survived thank to God. Now I have 5 pots of it and I don't know where to plant them anymore. I put some in my DIY square container and some more in pots. They grow well. SEA Beauty Secret : Hibiscus and Pandan Hair Mask

I went out this morning, and found some hibiscus flowers in my mini garden. So I planned to make hibiscus hair mask for today. And walking beside a pandan container reminded me of the idea that I just thought yesterday, which is making a pandan-hibiscus hair mask.  Hibiscus and Pandan Mask So I prepared my  hibiscus hair mask . I blended 3 pandan leaves with a little water and strained the pandan juice. I then took the strained juice and and mix it with hibiscus hair mask. The remaining pandan leaves paste/particles on the strainer I added in the body scrub. (I used 3 hibiscus flowers and 3 pandan leaves of 20 cm length). You can also blend hibiscus flower and pandan leaves together with some water (enough to cover your hair). Applying the hair mask on my scalp, I feel a very cooling experience. My hair also smells of pandan. It is so refreshing, and cooling especially during hot weather. I am keeping it for a few hours and will update when I washed my hair...
